snow glow

A long-awaited snow:

  • Enough to cover everything – no more reminders of dead gardens, of unfinished business. All is completed, tucked in, looking pristine in winter white.
  • Enough to be worth shoveling – exercise, 3 times, a couple of inches each time.
  • Enough to stay – it’s supposed to get cold again next week, so it won’t melt right away. If we’re lucky, we’ll keep it ’til spring.

The day ends in a glow: city lights shine on clouds, clouds shine on snow, snow shines on ceiling and fills my room with soft light.
