Sunny. A warm 18 degrees. It seems that there should be a better
measure of how cold a day feels. “Wind chill” considers only
the wind, but clouds and humidity also make cold feel colder, sun and
dryness warmer, by at least another 10 degrees. Most importantly,
though, and impossible to measure for everyone, is mood. A lousy
mood can make even the warmest sunny day feel cold.
Due to our squirrel infestation (more than a dozen squirrels in our
yard at all times of day), I’m taking a few days off from re-filling
the feeders, thinking about how to bring the birds back.
