A too-warm, wind-soaked night of not-rain. A last, fitful turning of
summer into fall. By mid-day there’s still no rain, only thick clouds
and rapidly cooling temperatures. Yesterday we hit 88°F, and this
morning was well into the 70s, but now we’re dropping into the low 60s.
It smells like sweaters… and mushrooms…
and then rain – chilly, gray, hot tea & soup rain. A little thunder, to
remind us of the summer it came from.
