Today I prepared the dirt mound next to the pond for planting I
worked in some composted manure, so it’s not just sterile clay,
watered, covered the whole thing with mulch (using wood chips
from the neighbor’s elm tree, which the city cut down a couple of
days ago to avoid Dutch Elm disease), and watered again. Only the
creeping thyme will go in now. For the rest, I’ll have all winter
to think about it.
