While walking the garden today I was struck by how beautiful the plants are, even when they’re not harvestable. Asparagus fronds, very hard to capture on film, are so feathery and insubstantial that, one at a time, they almost disappear. But pile them one on top of another, and they form a deep green cloud.
Also easy to miss, but beautiful up close, is the demure delicacy of a raspberry blossom, its face shyly turned away. It gives no hint of the bright red berry to come.
