Almost, but not quite rain. We bought and planted some plants – sweet woodruff, wild ginger and columbine for the yard, and lobelia (blue and white), silver dust and moss rose (white and pink), for the flower boxes – to stave off anxiety while we wait, and wait, and wait for everything else to grow.

I still have high hopes for the rest of our garden (most of the wildflowers have sprouted, and we haven’t had any significant deer browsing yet), but my imagination starts to fail me after two weeks of staring at millimeter-sized leaves in the dirt. Patience.
