We hit 83°F (28°C) last night, with the promise of rain overnight to break the tension, but all we got was a restless wind. The rain evaporated before it hit the ground, leaving our thirst unslaked.
Today it’s equally bright and sunny, but there is a cold wind blowing from the northwest, a little damp. It reminds me of air just off of an icy lake, back when I went canoeing in Canada, or hiking in the Sierras. It makes me thirsty to think about it. Tap water will have to do, for now.
