Heavy clouds, but no snow.

For the first time in a long time, I wanted to see the space shuttle landing. Doc Searls
had mentioned it, and I thought it had been too long since I’d seen the shuttle. So this morning at about 8 o’clock I turned on the TV. Nothing but mission control and a high vapor trail so far… and then the vapor trail turned into multiple trails, and then the shuttle was gone.

I couldn’t believe it. All I wanted was the simple affirmation that NASA usually gives me – great people accomplishing great things, but instead I got a lesson in humility, of how far away 39 miles, or 16 minutes can be.

I still can’t believe it.
