A balmy 23 degrees today. The snow isn’t melting, though it feels like it should.
I can tell the outside temperature from the size and variety of frost crystals on my office windows. Their leakiness gives the storm windows plenty of moisture for elaborate paintings in frost. Most of it ends up as a shimmering blur of faceted light, but towards the edge it grows into feathers and trees, and just above the trees there’s usually a bird or two. Here is one taking off to the right. The brown background is from tree trunks in the distance.
