I have a confession to make: I stopped using my push mower as soon as my work (paying work, that is) picked up. I know it’s a lousy excuse, but I just didn’t have the time. So now, guiltily, I pay someone else to mow while I (and my faithful push mower) sit inside. The lawn gets mowed with big power mowers in 30 minutes or less. It would take me hours. It’s yet another sign that our lawn is too big for us – we need more gardens.

On that front, I’m already planning my fall planting. We had a lot of wildflower seeds in the spring that should have been planted in the fall. Now is my chance to start them off right.

Does anyone know of a good source for wood lily
(Lilium philadelphicum
) bulbs?
