(Reno, NV) This time the rains made it into Reno. Yesterday evening as I left work the clouds stretched almost to the western range, thick enough for 5 hundredths of an inch where I was, but more than 3 inches to the east.

Overhead, the ragged edge of the storm would tear and repair, supporting itself through the holes on fluted pillars of pure sunlight. To the west, rain made it only halfway to the ground, but the moisture turned the air into a shimmering curtain on the verge of iridescence. It was fantastic, magical – a good way to start a weekend.
