-3°C (26.6°F) A big shoveling day. It was good to get out early, before all the snowblowers and rumbling plows. Heavy snow. Warm enough that I had to toss my coat halfway through. Now it’s done, the birds and squirrels fed, the sun’s long melting process begun.
I retreat indoors, out of the blinding light, taking an inordinate pride in having a clear driveway through mounds of snow.
