-8°C (17.6°F) A light dusting of snow, and a quick final chill from the Arctic – we may touch zero over the next day or two. While I was out this morning I noticed a peculiar pinkish tinge about the trees’ younger limbs. I don’t know if it was the early sun, the soft clouds, or the sudden cold, but their thin bark shone like the healthy flush of a child’s cheek in the cold.
Last night four deer – two mothers and their children – took an early evening stroll through the park. And our neighborhood raccoon made a leisurely perambulation of his domain, his first appearance of the spring. I hope he’s warm enough today.
