I forgot to mention the clouds yesterday. In the morning they were all hustle, full of purpose. In the afternoon they came more slowly, in large groups, like families with children. As the day wore on, stragglers hurried by looking worried.
At the end, a few were caught, held still in the sun’s last beams. They shone like dew in a spider’s web, only hotter, brighter. After dark their ghosts drifted freely again, released.
