3°C (37.4°F) Sunny, windy and warm. The weather forecasters are trying to tell us that a sub-zero cold spell is coming next week, but it’s hard to think of that now. Nine-and-a-half hours of daylight help the hopes of spring, too. The ground is starting to poke through the snow in spots. By the time this weekend is over, it should be almost gone, again.
When I was young, there were a couple of times I made a snowball to save in the freezer until mid-summer – or even the next winter. I don’t know why – maybe something about connecting two times, or transplanting something from where (when) it belongs to somewhere else. It sure was fun throwing a snowball in July, though.
