1°C (33.8°F) My wife’s aunt died today. The universe is much larger, and I am so very much smaller than I realized. Like when my grandmother died, just 52 days ago. Like the seeing the stars on a moonless night.
3°C (37.4°F) The clouds were so thick this morning that it hardly felt like morning… but no more than a little mist for rain. I noticed that some of our hostas are beginning to bud, and our azaleas have put out new branches, a few tender leaves. So far, though, the native plants are a little more reluctant. Their buds are still small, hard, and shielded against the cold which is sure (eventually, finally, I hope) to come.
