I like bowls. There’s something about their roundness, their smoothness, that I like. No sharp corners. And they hold food so well. Not flat and spread thin like plates, but deep and three-dimensional, keeping food warm, keeping it moist. Big enough for piles of food. Or for making food, mixing food, cooking food – bread dough rising to fill it up, cookie dough clinging to the sides. Who gets to lick the bowl? I like spoons, too
