0°C (32°F) Wow. Hard to believe it was in the 60s less than a week ago. The snow is flying, swirling – not just inevitable, but relentless. Gonna curl up ’round the fireplace tonight.
The first shoveling of the day is done. I wanted to do it once before it got too deep. The snow is wet and heavy, and my muscles are well out of practice. It wasn’t too bad, but it’s supposed to snow all night, and I need to get out in the morning, so tomorrow morning could be much more difficult.
My latest experiment:
1°C (33.8°F). It grabs weather reports from the nearest local airport and puts it in a nice format so I can include them in my updates here. When I’m happy enough with it (and comfortable in integrating it with Radio Userland
), I’ll include it along with the timestamp of every post.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Very light this morning, now it’s coming down just like the rain of a couple of days ago, steady, persistent, inevitable. I also like the sound (or rather lack of sound) of snow. It’s still too warm to get the full effect, because it’s melting on the streets, but once it sticks to the streets it isn’t just soundless, it muffles any other sound, too. An enforced hush – quiet respect for the cold – holding its breath ’til the spring thaw.
