The tops of the crabapple trees are yellow now. We warmed up to 75 degrees, so it was pleasant moving a truckload of wood chips around. I mulched the vinca major and the juneberry and chokecherry I transplanted about a week ago; I set up new beds by the vegetable garden for herbs (I think) and sunflowers; and I filled in a few spots where the existing mulch had thinned.

I’m still working on the perennial/wildflower bed, though. I haven’t quite gotten the shape I want, so I raked up some leaves (there aren’t many yet) to make an easily-shifted boundary for a little experimentation before I commit spade to earth.
