In honor of the winter solstice, the darkest day of the year, I took
pictures of all the green plants I could find in the house. There aren’t
nearly enough, yet, but every year I add a few more.
I liked the low angle of the sun on their leaves, and
the intense green of their leaves is a strong tonic against cold,
gray days.
There’s also one that I got as a gift a while back that I haven’t
been able to identify. It’s woody, like a small shrub, with hard,
waxy leaves. Here’s a close-up of one of the leaves. Maybe you can
help me identify it.
