A soft rain overnight and cool clouds today. After a marathon grocery run we bought more asparagus plants and a nicotiana hybrid in the parking lot, because they were so cheap ($1.50 for four plants).
In another few years they’ll give us a real asparagus bed (10 plants instead of just two). And the nicotiana eases my impatience. It’s soothing to see the first green plants in what, so far, has been an empty bed. Â
