More coolness, more dampness. Goldfinches feed at our thistle feeder, brilliant in the gray. House finches nest by the bat house on our porch. Someone – a possum, maybe – destroyed a nest in the same spot last year. I hope these have better luck. Their songs are better than coffee in the morning. Â
