28°C (82.4°F) Back home yesterday afternoon, off the plane into a (this time welcome) blast of heat and humidity - the lush, fruitful breath of summer. We had a good 3-inch dousing on Friday, so all the leaves, even on oaks, looked succulent, full and fleshy.
Today we started off with more rain and thunder, for about 30 minutes – just enough to keep the humidity high, but after a week in near-desert conditions, I’m drinking it in. Â
