on this day in…

I almost forgot to tell you:

Yesterday, my wife and I were walking around the neighborhood – nothing unusual, pretty generic mid-60′s suburbia, when I noticed an unusually large bird flapping its wings. At first I thought I misjudged the distance – maybe it was just a crow. But then the sun flashed across its unmistakable, gleaming white head: a bald eagle! It swooped in low over our heads, then off to the right. No sign of it today, only now I carry it with me, always.
